All Island Essay Competition - Sunday Times
A newspaper article published in the Sunday Times newspaper on the 11th of September 2022 regarding the awarding Ceremony of the All Island Essay Competition which was organized by the Official Languages Commission [OLC] in collaboration with the National Languages Equality Advancement Project [NLEAP] to mark the Official Languages Week which falls annually from 01st – 05th July. Mother Language Day - Silumina
In 1999, UNESCO declared 21st of February as the International Mother Language Day. According to that Mother Language Day is celebrated annually on 21st of February. The celebration of the Mother Language Day held on 2021 with the theme of “Fostering multilingualism for inclusion in education and society” aiming the conservation and development of all the languages used by the people worldwide.
A paper article was published in the Silumina newspaper under the title of “ using the mother tongue is the right of the human race/kind” after a discussion held with panel of linguistic experts , board members of the Official Languages Commission, including the chairman of the Official Languages Commission.
